Underbelly Promotions and Productions

Our Underbelly Promotions division will be promoting and/or producing a number of comedians and shows at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe. Full details »

E4 UdderBELLY

One of the big talking points that has already been picked up in the press is our new UdderBELLY venue in the shape of a giant upside-down purple cow, located in Bristo Square, to be renamed "The Pasture". More information »

Underbelly is now very much at the forefront of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, a major series of venues, but venues that still retains their site-specific, intimate and unique atmosphere.

Having started as a single venue for five shows, Underbelly will in 2007 be programming over 140 shows into twelve perfomance spaces in four venues with an emphasis on new writing and new talent.

In the last four years it has played host to the winner of the Perrier Newcomer Comedy Award (2003), the winner of the Perrier Comedy Award (2004), Perrier Newcomer nominee (2004), 4 Fringe First Award winners (2003 & 2004), 2 Herald Angle Awards (2006), the winner of the Writers Guild Award (2005 & 2006), the winner of the Macolm Hardee Award (2005) and bands such as Keane, The Thrills, Athlete and Nizlopi who are all now at the top of the British music scene.

The Underbelly, Cowgate and Baby Belly venues are sponsored by Smirnoff. The UdderBELLY venue is sponsored by E4. The Pasture is sponsored by Strongbow. The Cow Barn (Reid Hall) venue is sponsored by Smirnoff Ice. The sponsors are sponsors of the venues and not of any of the shows appearing at them.
