Bars @ Underbelly

Beer Belly
Jelly Belly

Most people like the odd drink at the Festival and Underbelly continues to grow as one of the most popular late night hang outs at the Fringe.

Our beautiful bar staff have received almost holy status with regular Festival goers and our unrivalled atmosphere will excite and entertain.

Whether you want a lazy afternoon 'pick me up' or a downright dirty late night experience you'll find Underbelly's five bars will welcome you with open arms. If you only see one show this Festival, make it Underbelly's bars at 4 in the morning.

The Pasture

2006 saw the opening of the Pasture - our new outdoor bar area in Bristo Square surrounding the UdderBELLY venue and next to the Cow Barn. There is no more central place in Edinburgh to spend the day, just yards from Gilded Ballon, Pleasance Dome and the Spiegal Garden.

At night you can meet your friends to while away the night under the stars, surrounded by over-sized flowers, lit by a huge glowing purple cow or slip off to one of the hundreds of comedy shows within a minute's walk.

Belly Dancer

Belly Dancer is our intimate music space and bar. We’ve got gigs galore most nights of the Fringe. After these are over we open the space up and it becomes a dance floor ‘till four, playing host to great DJ’s and more bands. If you work up a bit of a thirst whilst pounding the floor, you’ll be able to dive to the Underbelly's fourth bar inside the Belly Dancer, avoiding the crowds of Beer Belly. What could be better!

Belly Dancer

The Belly Dancer is the regular host of both the Underbelly Live gigs and Spank!, one of the most successful, controversial and well-known of the late night comedy shows.

Baby Belly

We also have a bar at the Baby Belly, although this is operated by the owners of the Caves and not by Underbelly. The Baby Belly bar is a place to chill, chat with friends and drink the night away. If you find the Underbelly to bit a bit too raw for your tastes, the Baby Belly bar may be right up your street.
