FREE wi-fi internet access
We have installed a wireless network in the Underbelly based on the industry-standard 802.11g wi-fi standard. This is linked to a dedicated ADSL connection.
The access is open and available to all our customers and will allow you to use your wi-fi compliant laptop to access the internet at broadband speeds. You should be able to get a signal throughout the Beer Belly and Jelly Belly Bars.
Technical Support (or lack of!)
Because this is a free service and we are all very busy running the venue during the festival, we cannot provide technical support. However, we have placed some information and links that may help you to connect to our network below. The router does contain a firewall, but we accept no responsibility for any loss arising as a result of your use of this service. Please use at your own risk.
How to connect
Mac OS X
If you are used to using an airport network you should have no problems. If you are already set up "Underbelly Public" should appear in the list of available networks in your Aiport menu in the menu bar.
However, if it does not, open your Network System Preferences; choose "Airport" from the "Show" drop down list; in the Airport tab ensure that "Automatic" is selected; in the TCP/IP tab, ensure that "Using DHCP" is selected in the Configure drop down menu.
That's it
Windows
We are not really Windows users here at the Underbelly, so all we really know is that involves wizards, some black magic and a bit of luck to get it to work, but we are assured by Windows users that it is all really easy and it should work with any computer that actually has a wi-fi card!. It sounds a bit Harry Potter to us.
Go to www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/1000.html for more information on how to connect a Windows PC to an Airport network.
