2014/15 is the most successful Edinburgh’s Christmas yet

7th Jan 2015

Underbelly is thrilled to announce that 2014/15 was the biggest and most successful Edinburgh's Christmas ever. People came along to East Princes St Gardens & St Andrew Square in their millions to experience spectacular festive delights such as the Star Flyer and Big Wheel, as well as our incredible shows in the Spiegeltent including Scotch & Soda and BRIEFS. With a host of brand new attractions at both sites such as the circular ice rink at St Andrew Square and a newly expanded Santa Land, this truly was Edinburgh's most spectacular Christmas yet. And judging by the number of people who enjoyed the 20% discount for residents with an EH postcode, it was as much a spectacle for locals as it was for visitors from across the world.

  • 541,151 tickets were sold for shows and attractions at Edinburgh's Christmas (that's a 40.17% increase on 2013/14)
  • 97,500 were tickets sold with EH postcode discount (1 in 10 people in the EH area took advantage of the offer)
  • Footfall figures from Princes Street were 8.6% up, with the overall city centre figure 5.1% ahead of last year.
