Introduction
Underbelly Productions produces and co-produces theatre and comedey shows and tours.
We have produced or co-produced many shows appearing at the Underbelly venues over the years and we have now formalised that business into a separate division that will operate all year round.
In 2004, our co-produced show, Jackson's Way, won the Perrier Award for its creator, Will Adamsdale, and went on to tour nationally ending up bac at the BAC where it first started.
Edinburgh Fringe 2007
Complete Underbelly Productions line-up »
This year Underbelly Productions continue to produce and co-produce some of the most diverse and exciting talent at the Edinburgh Fringe, from comedy to theatre, from live music to magic from across the globe. Winner of the Breakout Award at HBO’s Aspen Comedy Festival 2005, Rebecca Drysdale makes her UK debut with award winning songs and sketches, and Canadian actor and director TJ Dawes brings his critically acclaimed comic monologue A Canadian Bartender at Butlins to the UK following countless sell-out shows across America. If you can’t decide what to see, head down to Lunchbox Live, for a taste of some of the best shows at the festival – with it’s line-up changing daily, there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone.
Following the sell-out success of Talk Radio in 2006, The Comedians Theatre Company also returns to the Udderbelly with Breaker Morant, directed by award winning comic Phil Nichol and sure to be one of the hottest tickets on the Fringe. Paul Trussell premiers Mouse, inspired by Edmond Rostand’s masterpiece Cyrano de Bergerac following the fortunes of a shy IT professional who secretly intercepts and alters his colleague’s emails with catastrophic results, and Charlie Ross returns with his sell-out smash One Man Star Wars Trilogy – always one to book early!
Making his hotly anticipated Edinburgh debut, star of Channel 4’s Dirty Tricks, Pete Firman brings his unique fusion of anarchic, off-beat humour and dazzling magic to the Underbelly and Hattie Hayridge, best known as Holly from BBC’s Red Dwarf, presents an all new stand-up show for 2007, promising to live up to her reputation as “mistress of the one-liner”. Internationally acclaimed comedian Craig Campbell also returns to the festival this year, with the unique blend of natural eccentricity and truly inventive storytelling that has made him one of the hottest acts on the circuit.
For a late, late night comedy fix, The Late Show is back for it’s 6th year, bringing you the funniest bills on the Fringe, and sell-out smash Spank! returns with legendary line-ups of the best comics at the Fringe, dancing til dawn, and probably some gratuitous nudity.
