Brighton Fringe

2nd May - 25th May 2009

After 2 brilliant years with Udderbelly's Pasture on Brighton's Old Steine Lawns, the cow is moving on to greener pastures and regrettably will not be grazing on the Brighton seafront for Fringe 09.

Brighton has been a fantastic home for our upside down, purple cow for the last 2 festivals. In both 2007 and 2008 we tried to present the highest programme of theatre, comedy and music shows and in doing hope that we have brought something original and enjoyable to this vibrant city.

Many of our shows were very successful, both critically and at the box office, Caesar Twins and Tom Tom Club especially. We enjoyed an electric programme of theatre such as The Terrible Infants, The Lady of Burma to Potted Potter and Professor Bums Story Machine, as well as burlesque with Le Scandal and Voodoo Vaudeville. We've had a smorgesboard of comedy from Stewart Lee, Jerry Sadowitz, Jenny Eclair and Jim Bowen to Tim Minchin, Stephen K Amos to Chris Addison and buzzing events such as Silent Disco and T4 filming Beth Ditto and Scissor Sisters among others on the site in 2007.

We very much hope that Underbelly will be returning to Brighton in the near future however in the meantime keep your eyes on this website for exciting news of pastures new for Udderbelly in 2009.
