Press Manager – Edinburgh Fringe

Hours – Full time, permanent (work outside regular hours in festival time will be required)
Based – June/July – Flexible, August – Edinburgh. Accommodation can be supplied to the right candidate
Salary – £30K pro rata


Underbelly is a UK based live entertainment company that specialises in the creation of city centre cultural events and festivals and producing theatrical productions. Established in 2000 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Underbelly has since produced shows and events in locations from London and Edinburgh to Asia.

Current London festivals include Underbelly Festival, London Wonderground at Earls Court, Christmas in Leicester Square and Christmas in Trafalgar Square. Underbelly is also the event production partner for West End Live in Trafalgar Square (on behalf of Westminster City Council and Society of London Theatre) and Pride in London.

In Scotland, we produce Underbelly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edinburgh’s Christmas, and Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.

Underbelly love creating fantastic and unique pop-up events and productions. We love entertaining. In 2019, we welcomed more than 9 million people to our events and festivals.


This role will manage Underbelly’s press office at the Fringe. You will work alongside Publicists to facilitate our headliner campaigns whilst also being the main contact for all remaining shows. You will work alongside include press cutting assistants and an office coordinator.

You will be the main contact for Underbelly with the media at the Fringe, working closely with the Marketing and Programming teams as well as Underbelly’s Directors.

In the lead up to August this role can be remote, August will be full time on-ground at the Festival.


The main duties of this role include:

  • Managing the press office
  • Being the first point of contact for companies and the press regarding Underbelly
  • Managing a small press office team, ensuring they fulfil daily duties on time
  • Working with relevant teams to facilitate press calls, launches, briefings etc
  • Working with relevant teams to make sure Underbelly’s brand and headliners have the most coverage possible


  • Someone who loves the arts and wants to be involved in the Fringe
  • You must be orgainised and work well in a busy environment
  • You must be a team player
  • Press industry experience is a bonus, not essential
  • UK-based press contacts s a bonus, not essential
