Job Title: Onsite Marketing Coordinator – Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe
Location: Edinburgh Office (First Floor, 4 Hunter Square, Edinburgh EH1 1QW)
Salary: £500 per week, based on a 6 day week in August – pro rata for 5 days.

ABOUT UNDERBELLY
Underbelly is a UK based live entertainment company that specialises in the creation of city centre cultural events and festivals and producing theatrical productions. Established in 2000 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Underbelly has since produced shows and events in locations from London and Edinburgh to Asia.

Current London festivals include Underbelly Festival, London Wonderground at Earls Court, Christmas in Leicester Square and Christmas in Trafalgar Square. Underbelly is also the event production partner for West End Live in Trafalgar Square (on behalf of Westminster City Council and Society of London Theatre) and Pride in London.

In Scotland, we produce Underbelly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edinburgh’s Christmas, and Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.

Underbelly love creating fantastic and unique pop-up events and productions. We love entertaining. In 2019, we welcomed more than 9 million people to our events and festivals.

Job Purpose
Based in our Edinburgh office and reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will work with Marketing Team to successfully produce and coordinate the installation and derig of all signage for Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Main Duties
The main duties of this role include:

 Signage

  • Project manage the briefing, design and print process of al Underbelly Signage
  • Oversee the installation of signage on site
  • Work alongside the Production Team coordinating timelines for install
  • Manage a Show Tec team to install large format signage according to plans set out
  • Liaise with printers to arrange delivery times and keep deliveries to a minimum
  • Support Marketing Manager in managing all snagging requests for signage at all sites
  • Catalogue all signage kept at derig for the next year

 On the ground during the festival

  • Manage the roster of the Street Team and priorities for shows daily
  • Fill in for team members on ground where needed
  • Over see flyer, poster and brochure levels across the festival and work with FOH and Box Office team to keep replenished.

General Marketing Support

  • Assist the Marketing and Press teams on adhoc duties
  • Fill in for team members on ground where needed

Skills, experience, and person specification

  • An experienced project manager with knowledge of signage production
  • A background of onsite event work
  • A good eye for detail, to create ascetically pleasing installations
  • Experience in a fast-paced and often pressurised environment
  • Organised with a structured approach to a busy workload
  • Previous use of industrial drills and tools
  • An ability to work co-operatively within other departments/site requirements

Terms and Conditions 

  • This role is a fixed term contract: from the 20th of June to 2 September 2022
  • Working hours are 9.30am – 6pm in the office and 8.30am – 5pm on site during build; longer hours and weekend work will be required during the festival
  • This role works via a timesheet and weekly pay will reflect this
  • Pay for this role is £500 per week
  • Knowledge of Edinburgh cultural events and organisation would be an advantage.
