Underbelly Productions is the theatrical arm of Underbelly, presenting, producing and promoting a diverse programme of international work.

The world premiere of the beloved and iconic Mog stories will take the stage at the 2020 Edinburgh Fringe in a co-production with The Old Vic, Nuffield Southampton Theatres, and the acclaimed Wardrobe Ensemble.

2019 saw the triumphant return of the original trailblazing Speigeltent cabaret show La Clique to London for a sell out Christmas season in Leicester Square. It was also the second year in the West End for acclaimed improv group Austentatious, beginning a weekly residency at the Fortune Theatre which continues into 2020.

Don’t Tell Me Not to Fly, a one-woman cabaret featuring a revolving cast of some of the West End’s favourite leading ladies premiered in McEwan Hall as part of the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

In 2017, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, we produced a major revival of the classic musical Five Guys Named Moe, which ran for 30 weeks at the purpose built Marble Arch Theatre. This scorching production garnered rave reviews and was nominated for 3 WhatsOnStage Awards (including Best Musical Revival) and as Best Entertainment and Family at the 2018 Olivier Awards. We were also Associate Producers on the UK Premiere of the musical Big Fish starring Kelsey Grammar, which enjoyed a sold-out Christmas run at The Other Palace.

Other recent highlights of Underbelly Productions work include two sell-out Edinburgh Fringe seasons of Circa’s Humans; Frankie Vah by Luke Wright on tour; late night comedy/circus sensation Elixir by Head First Acrobats; Closer also by Circa, commissioned especially for the iconic Udderbelly venue; Abandoman’s Road to Coachella, The Hot Desk, Life + Rhymes and Moonrock Boombox; Barely Methodical Troupe’s Bromance; Adelaide-Award winning Cut, for two Edinburgh seasons and a London transfer to The Vaults; and the internationally acclaimed, world-wide smash hit Limbo, co-created with London’s Southbank Centre and Australia’s Strut and Fret.

We are always looking for the next brilliant show for touring and for our Festivals. We love hearing about new ideas, and we’re particularly interested in non-language, circus, music and family shows. If you’re interested in working with us please get in touch.
